NSCDC Urges Arewa and Oduduwa Youth to Embrace Peace and Development

The Commandant General (CG) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has called on Nigerian youths, particularly those from the Arewa and Oduduwa regions, to take on the responsibility of fostering peace, development, and innovation in the country. CG Audi delivered this message during a meeting with the Arewa Youth Progressive Movement and the Oduduwa Development Initiative at the National Headquarters of the Corps.

In his address, CG Audi emphasized the importance of the youth’s unique characteristics, such as their strength, vibrancy, numerical advantage, and technological aptitude. He urged them to harness these qualities to become change agents and ambassadors of peace in their communities.

CG Audi also warned the youth to be cautious of individuals who might seek to exploit their potential and manipulate them into causing unrest in the country. He stressed the need for the youth to use their agility in pursuits that uplift society, rather than engaging in activities that bring shame and destruction.

Furthermore, CG Audi highlighted his administration’s commitment to recognizing the power and potential of the youth. Over the past two years, the Corps has employed nearly 10,000 young people, who serve as implementers of policies due to their energy and zeal.

The President of the Arewa Youth Progressive Movement, Comrade Ajinomoh Emmanuel Abiodun, commended the NSCDC for its inclusive approach to protecting national assets and infrastructure. He expressed his delight over the establishment of the NSCDC Command and Staff College in Jos, stating that it would contribute to the economic development of the state.

Similarly, CG Audi met with the Oduduwa Development Initiative and urged them to utilize their platform to promote unity in the country. He emphasized the importance of focusing on shared values and fighting against common enemies, such as terrorism, banditry, and kidnappings, which threaten the nation’s peace.

CG Audi affirmed that through community partnerships and collaboration among security agencies, significant progress has been made in combatting criminals. He expressed optimism that the present government would fulfill its promises and restore optimal peace in the country.

During the meeting, the National President of the Oduduwa Development Initiative, Comrade Akinyele Olasunbo, extended congratulations to CG Audi on his numerous achievements as the Commandant General. Notably, the Corps’ recruitment efforts have been commendable, transcending geopolitical zones and states.

Comrade Akinyele Olasunbo described the NSCDC as the last hope of the common man, pledging their commitment to support the Corps through community intelligence gathering, citizen participation, and engagement with civil society organizations. These collaborative efforts aim to integrate the masses into the ongoing reforms spearheaded by the Corps.
