Supreme Court Dismisses Atiku’s Appeal, Affirms Tinubu’s Election

In a landmark ruling on Thursday, the Supreme Court has put an end to the legal battle between the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and President Bola Tinubu, by dismissing Atiku’s appeal and affirming Tinubu’s election victory.

The esteemed seven-man panel unanimously dismissed the appeal, citing its lack of merit. They meticulously examined and resolved all seven issues raised for determination, ultimately ruling in favour of the respondents.

Justice John Okoro, who delivered the lead judgment, upheld the decision of the presidential election tribunal on September 6. This decision solidifies Tinubu’s position as the rightfully elected president of Nigeria.

“After thorough consideration, this appeal holds no merit and is hereby dismissed,” Justice Okoro declared.

The Supreme Court had previously refused Atiku’s request to present new evidence, aimed at proving that Tinubu had forged the certificate he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in order to qualify for the 2023 presidential election.

As we await further details of the ruling, this verdict marks a significant milestone in the political landscape of our nation. It is a testament to the credibility and integrity of our judicial system, as it upholds the will of the Nigerian people.

Stay tuned for more updates on this momentous event.
