Supreme Court Judgment: Christian Association of Nigeria Appeals for Unity

In light of the recent Supreme Court decision affirming President Bola Tinubu’s election, Reverend John Joseph Hayab, the Kaduna State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has called upon Nigerians to come together and work towards building a stronger nation under the new administration.

Rev. Hayab, in a statement released on Thursday, stressed the importance of unity and healing following the court’s ruling. He urged political parties and their supporters to cease engaging in unnecessary debates and character assassinations, and instead focus on fostering an atmosphere of development, restoration, and unity within the country.

Expressing his reverence for the judiciary, Rev. Hayab emphasized the need for Nigerians to respect and appreciate the role of the courts. By doing so, he believes, the country can maintain peace and foster harmonious coexistence among its citizens.

Furthermore, Rev. Hayab appealed to all Nigerians not to allow themselves to be manipulated into dividing the country due to political differences. He encouraged citizens to unite and rally behind the individual whom the Supreme Court has endorsed as the rightful leader, thereby creating an environment conducive for national development.

“As we support the new government,” Rev. Hayab posited, “we must hold them accountable for ensuring good governance. It is through unity and love for our nation that we can collectively achieve progress.”
