Ekiti Civil Servants to Receive N136m Car Loans Approved by Gov Oyebanji

In a move aimed at improving the welfare of civil servants in Ekiti State, Governor Biodun Oyebanji has given his approval for the disbursement of N136,260,000 in car loans. The loan scheme, which is part of the government’s initiative to support its workforce, will benefit a total of 368 civil servants.

Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Akin Oyebode, made this announcement, expressing the governor’s commitment to the well-being of public servants. He revealed that the governor injected N200 million into the loan scheme to facilitate the disbursement process.

In addition to the car loans, Governor Oyebanji also authorized the payment of N174,394,176.88 in outstanding deductions from salaries to cooperative societies and the Federal Mortgage Bank. This measure demonstrates the government’s dedication to resolving any financial concerns faced by civil servants.

The loan amounts to be disbursed will vary depending on the grade levels of the beneficiaries. Oyebode disclosed that eligible civil servants can expect to receive sums ranging from N80,000 to N1.5 million.

To provide a breakdown of the disbursement plan, Oyebode shared that 22 officers on grade levels 2 to 6 will receive N80,000 each. Meanwhile, 180 beneficiaries on grade levels 7 to 10 will be granted N250,000 each.

For those on higher grade levels, 150 workers on grades 12 to 14 will be given N500,000 each. Furthermore, 13 personnel on grades 15 to 17 will receive N750,000 each, and three beneficiaries on consolidated salaries will take home N1.5 million each.

It is noteworthy that this is not the first time such loans have been disbursed to civil servants in Ekiti State. In December 2022, a total of N130.7 million was allocated for car loans, further demonstrating the government’s sustained commitment to the welfare and happiness of its workforce.
