The Football Association is presently conducting an investigation into Manchester United’s talented forward, Alejandro Garnacho. This comes on the heels of a controversial social media post he made subsequent to their impressive 1-0 win over FC Copenhagen in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The match itself saw Harry Maguire secure the victory with the sole goal scored during the enthralling encounter, setting the ecstatic Red Devils roaring with pride during the second half.
It should be noted, however, that Lady Luck was grinning upon them as goalkeeper Andre Onana heroically pulled off a spectacular save to preserve the three points, denying FC Copenhagen an equaliser with a last-minute penalty.
In the aftermath of the game, Garnacho took to social media and shared an image of himself jubilantly celebrating alongside Onana, accompanied by two gorilla emojis. This harmless gesture of camaraderie, unfortunately, sparked a fiery controversy.
Renowned football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, shared his insight: “The Football Association has launched an inquiry into Garnacho’s social media post, specifically regarding his use of gorilla emojis in relation to Andre Onana’s penalty save.”
In response to the situation, Onana voiced his opinion, stating, “People should not dictate what offends me. Garnacho intended to convey strength and power. This matter should not be blown out of proportion.”
