Insecurity in Nigeria: Islamic Cleric Urges Collective Effort for Peace

A prominent Islamic cleric and former Commissioner of Religious Affairs, Sheikh Muhammad Sani Tukur Jangebe, has called for unity and concerted efforts among Nigerians to address the ongoing security challenges plaguing the country.

During an interview in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, Sheikh Jangebe emphasized the urgent need to tackle the escalating insecurity situation, which he described as embarrassing and challenging. He attributed the recent calamities in the northern part of the country to a lack of obedience to God and disregard for the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.

“Without peace, progress is unattainable as peace serves as the cornerstone for development in any society,” Sheikh Jangebe expressed.

He further advised the Muslim ummah (community) to wholeheartedly embrace the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad, and to implement these teachings in their daily lives. By doing so, peace can be restored not only in Zamfara State, but across the entire country.

The Islamic cleric stressed the importance of unity and collective responsibility in combating the prevailing security challenges. He emphasized that it is everyone’s duty to actively contribute to the restoration of peace and stability in Nigeria.

Sheikh Jangebe’s call for unity and obedience to religious teachings aligns with the growing concern among Nigerians regarding the widespread insecurity in the country. His message serves as a reminder that addressing the security challenges requires both individual and collective efforts from all citizens, irrespective of their religious and ethnic backgrounds.

As Nigeria grapples with various security threats, ranging from insurgency to banditry and kidnapping, it is crucial for the government, community leaders, and citizens to come together in solidarity. Collaboration and mutual understanding are key to finding lasting solutions to these pressing issues.

Ensuring peace and security is not solely the responsibility of the government or security agencies. Every Nigerian has a role to play in fostering a safer and more prosperous nation. By upholding the values of unity and adhering to the teachings of their respective faiths, individuals can contribute to the overall well-being of the country.

It is high time for Nigerians to set aside their differences and work towards a more peaceful and harmonious society. Only through collective effort and understanding can the nation overcome its current security challenges and pave the way for a brighter future.
