Olowere: Prominent Christian Clerics, Senator, and Others Gather in Ibadan to Bid Farewell to Popular Pastor

On a solemn Friday in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo state, prominent Christian clerics, leaders, and distinguished guests came together to bid a final farewell to the beloved founder of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke Agbara, Ibadan, Pastor Michael Ojo Olowere. The passing of Olowere, affectionately known as Baba Automatic, occurred in July of this year, marking the end of a remarkable journey that spanned 100 years.

The Christian Wake and Service of Songs, organized to honor the memory of the revered prophet, saw the participation of distinguished Christian clerics. The event took place at the grand Lekan Salami Sports Complex in Adamasingba, Ibadan.

Among the esteemed clerics in attendance were Pastor Samuel Oladele, the President of Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas; Pastor Abraham Akinosun, his predecessor; and Pastor Hezekiah Oladeji, the General Evangelist of CAC.

Also present at the event were Bishop Taiwo Adelakun, the presiding Bishop of Victory International Church, Ibadan; Evangelist Bola Are; Evangelist Bisi Alawiye Aluko; Lady Evangelist Racheal Olowere; and Pastor Olatoye Ojo, among others.

In his sermon, the Regional Superintendent of CAC, Pastor Gabriel Dada, reflected on the nature of death and its significance as a path to heaven. He urged Christians to draw closer to God and emphasized the transient nature of worldly possessions, noting that everything acquired in life eventually becomes vanity.

According to Dada, “There is nothing in this world because all these things we are seeing are for the meantime. The moment God commands death to take life, it takes it immediately.”

The event also had the honorable presence of Senator Sharafadeen Alli, who represents the Oyo South Senatorial District. Alli fondly recalled the late pastor as someone who consistently cared for the welfare of those around him and fearlessly spoke truth to power.

Expressing his sentiments, Alli shared, “I have known Baba for quite a number of years. He is someone who is always interested in the welfare of people around him. He believed in the development of the human race.”

The gathering in Ibadan served as a touching tribute to the life and legacy of Pastor Michael Ojo Olowere—a man who dedicated his life to the service of God and humanity.
