The Ohinoyi of Ebira land, Ado Ibrahim, a prominent paramount ruler in Kogi State, has passed away at the age of 95. His demise occurred in the early hours of Sunday after a brief illness. As per Islamic customs, he will be laid to rest.
In 1997, the late Ado Ibrahim ascended to the throne of Ohinoyi of Ebira land, succeeding Alhaji Sanni Omolorim who had reigned from 1957 to 1997. His coronation was performed by the then-Governor of Kogi State, the late Prince Abubakar Audu.
Born on February 7, 1929, late Ado Ibrahim received education in both western nursery and Quranic schools. He completed his primary education in 1940 at the Native Authority (NA) Primary School in Okene, which was part of the Northern Region (now Kogi State).
Continuing his educational journey, he entered Ondo Boys High School for his secondary education and later transferred to Oduduwa College. In 1949, he graduated from Oduduwa College.
In 1954, Ado Ibrahim earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the prestigious London School of Economics. He further pursued his academic goals and obtained a master’s degree from Harvard Business School in 1959.
The passing of Ohinoyi of Ebira land, Ado Ibrahim, marks the end of an era for the people of Kogi State. His leadership and commitment to the betterment of his community will be remembered and cherished.
