In a stunning turn of events, former UFC champion Francis Ngannou asserts that he emerged victorious in his highly anticipated boxing match against Tyson Fury, despite the contentious split decision which favoured the British fighter.
The bout, held on Saturday night in Saudi Arabia, witnessed Ngannou delivering a knockdown to the reigning WBC heavyweight title holder in Round 3. However, the judges’ decision ultimately awarded the win to Fury, leaving both fans and experts alike in a state of bewilderment.
Reflecting on the match during a post-fight interview with IU, the Cameroonian star expressed his belief that he deserved the victory. Ngannou revealed his understanding that his status as a newcomer to the world of professional boxing may have influenced the outcome.
Ngannou stated, “If Tyson Fury is willing to acknowledge the truth, he would admit that I triumphed in our clash. There is no doubt in my mind that I won that fight hands down.”
Nevertheless, Ngannou acknowledged the uphill battle he faced in securing a decision victory, citing his status as a relative newcomer in the boxing world. He recognized that the judges may have been inclined towards the more experienced fighter when it came to rendering their decision.
