EPL: Ten Hag should remove Fernandes as captain – Roy Keane

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has told manager Erik ten Hag to remove Bruno Fernandes as the team’s captain.

Keane was speaking on Sky Sports after United lost 3-0 to Manchester City on Sunday.

Fernandes cut a frustrated figure throughout the game as City dominated at Old Trafford.

After the game, the Portugal midfielder stormed off the pitch without clapping at the home supporters.

Keane said: “What I saw today, I would take the captaincy off Fernandes. He is not captain material.

“He’s whinging; he’s moaning. I would start with that because the manager can control that. He is the opposite of what I would want as a captain.”
