Explosion Shakes Rivers Assembly as Threat to Impeach Gov Fubara Looms

An alarming incident rocked the Rivers State House of Assembly complex on Sunday night, as an explosion ripped through the premises. Reports indicate that unknown individuals, suspected to be arsonists, hurled an explosive into the complex at approximately 9:25 pm.

This unsettling occurrence transpires in the midst of swirling rumors suggesting that certain lawmakers are orchestrating a scheme to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

As a precautionary measure, a robust security presence has been established at the facility. The surroundings are now fortified with over 17 security trucks and four Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs). Furthermore, more than 50 Federal Security personnel have been deployed to safeguard the complex.
