EPL: Nottingham Forest Manager Delighted with Awoniyi’s Successful Return from Injury

The return of Taiwo Awoniyi from his recent groin injury has brought great joy to Nottingham Forest manager, Steve Cooper.

The talented Nigerian footballer had been absent from the pitch for several weeks due to his injury, but recently made a remarkable comeback during Forest’s match against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday. Awoniyi entered the game as a substitute in the second half.

Cooper expressed his satisfaction with Awoniyi’s return, emphasizing that having a strong focal point in the forward position greatly benefits the team.

“When Taiwo came on, we initially planned to give him some minutes, but we decided to extend his playing time,” Cooper shared during an interview with Forest TV.

“Having a number 9 on the pitch brings a sense of normalcy and adds a natural element to our gameplay. If Chris Wood or Divock Origi had played today, they would effortlessly fulfill their roles while Anthony goes back to his regular position and Morgan connects with the team.”

Since the start of the season, Awoniyi has already scored three goals in five league appearances for Nottingham Forest.
