The former vice president of Nigeria and the candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the recent presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, has made it crystal clear that he remains a force to be reckoned with in Nigerian politics despite his defeat.
During an international press conference held at the PDP Secretariat in Abuja on Monday, Atiku pledged his unwavering commitment to continue working alongside key stakeholders, particularly the younger generation, to propel the country towards its full potential.
Speaking in response to the Supreme Court’s verdict affirming President Bola Tinubu’s election victory, Atiku dismissed speculations that this loss would spell the end of his political career, asserting that his presence would persist in the political landscape of Nigeria.
He boldly stated, “If you think I’m going to fade away, forget about it. As long as I draw breath, I shall dedicate myself to the progress of Nigerians.”
Furthermore, Atiku accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of compromising the integrity of the last election, asserting that Tinubu was not eligible to contest for the presidency.
Atiku also emphasised that INEC displayed bias in defending the outcome of the February 25 election, both at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal and the Supreme Court.
