Rivers State Government Dismisses Reports of Chief Judge’s Sack and LG Chairmen’s Suspension

The Rivers State Government has vehemently denied the recent reports circulating about the sack of Chief Judge, Justice Simeon Amadi, and the suspension of the chairmen of the 23 Local Government Areas in the state.

Amidst the crisis between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and certain members of the State Assembly, there have been unfounded claims that the government has taken drastic actions against the CJ and the LG chairmen.

However, the state Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joe Johnson, in a statement released on Tuesday, has clarified that no such directive has been given by the governor.

In the statement, Johnson urges the people of Rivers State and the general public to disregard these reports, assuring them that any dismissals or actions against individuals will be officially announced at the appropriate time.

“It is important to note that His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, is a dedicated technocrat, with an extensive civil service background. He is kind-hearted and conducts himself according to well-established rules and with an unwavering fear of God,” the statement reads.

As the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Johnson emphasizes his commitment to keeping the public well-informed about current events in the state.
