The Last Student Kidnapped from Bethel Baptist School in Kaduna Has Been Released

In a remarkable turn of events, Treasure Ayuba, the final victim of the heinous abduction at Bethel High School in Kaduna, has been set free. This news comes nearly four months after a terrifying raid took place on July 5, during which armed gunmen stormed the school premises in Damishi, Kaduna and kidnapped 121 innocent students.

While the majority of the students were eventually released following intense negotiations and the concerted efforts of various stakeholders, Ayuba endured a prolonged period of captivity until now.

Amidst great relief and celebration, the Nigeria Baptist Convention (NBC) officially confirmed Ayuba’s release on Thursday night. Rev Israel Akanji, the esteemed President of the NBC, shared the long-awaited news in a heartfelt statement.

“Today, we rejoice and give thanks to the Almighty! After enduring months of unspeakable hardship, Treasure Ayuba, the courageous young boy who remained in the clutches of the heartless bandits since the fateful abduction incident on July 5, 2021, has finally reunited with his family on this blessed day, November 2, 2023.”

“We are eternally grateful to our unyielding God for this divine intervention. Moreover, we extend our profound appreciation to all those who fervently prayed for Treasure’s safe return and offered unwavering support throughout this arduous ordeal.”
