Nigerian Air Force to Partially Restrict Traffic Along Nyanya-Keffi Road on Saturday

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that there will be a partial traffic restriction along the Nyanya-Keffi expressway on Saturday. This restriction is to facilitate the NAF’s 2023 Annual 10 Kilometers Walk/Jog Exercise, which will take place in all NAF Bases nationwide.

Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the spokesperson for NAF, released a statement in Abuja on Friday, detailing the purpose and logistics of the exercise. According to Gabkwet, the event is aimed at enhancing the physical fitness of NAF personnel and will commence at 6:00 am.

In Abuja, the exercise will start from the NAF Base, Asokoro Football Field, and proceed to the Defence Headquarters Roundabout. From there, it will continue along the Keffi Road/Kugbo Furniture and Pedestrian Bridge, pass through the Army Checkpoint in Kugbo, and return to the Base through the NAF Valley Second Gate.

As a result of the exercise, there will be partial traffic restrictions along these routes. However, Gabkwet assured the public that all necessary safety measures have been put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. He urged motorists, residents of AYA, Asokoro, and communities near NAF Bases across the nation to go about their normal activities without panic.

This annual exercise is an important initiative by the Nigerian Air Force to prioritize the physical well-being of its personnel. By engaging in activities like walking and jogging, the NAF aims to maintain a high level of fitness and readiness among its ranks.

It is commendable to see the NAF taking proactive measures to enhance physical fitness and overall health. By organizing events like this exercise, the NAF sets a positive example for other institutions and encourages individuals to prioritize their own well-being.

The partial traffic restriction may cause some inconvenience to motorists, but it is crucial to support the NAF in its efforts to maintain a fit and prepared force.

Overall, the NAF’s 2023 Annual 10 Kilometers Walk/Jog Exercise serves as a testament to the dedication and commitment of the Nigerian Air Force to ensure the physical readiness of its personnel. By encouraging exercise and physical fitness, the NAF not only strengthens its own capabilities but also promotes a healthier and more active society.
