Kaduna Gov expresses delight over Bethel student’s release

The Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has expressed delight at the release of Treasure Ayuba, the last kidnapped pupil of Bethel Baptist High School, who had been in captivity since 2021.

DAILYPOST recalls that 121 Bethel students were kidnapped from their hostel in Maraban Damishi, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, in July 2021, by bandits.

All the students were released in batches after payment of ransom, but the bandits held onto Treasure Ayuba despite all efforts to ensure his release.

He was finally released a few days ago.

Reacting in a statement through his Chief Press Secretary, Muhammad Lawal Shehu, Governor Uba Sani thanked God for His divine intervention and expressed his gratitude to all persons and institutions unrelenting in efforts and prayers to ensure Ayuba’s safe return.

He also assured that the state government will continue to give security agencies all the support required to make Kaduna State schools safe and secure.

The released student has since been reunited with his loved ones.
