Ekiti State Government Empowers Health Workers with Essential Tools

The Biodun Oyebanji administration in Ekiti State has taken a commendable step towards improving the efficiency and productivity of health workers in the state by providing them with valuable work tools worth millions of naira.

During a distribution ceremony held in Ado Ekiti, Dr. Oyebanji Filani, the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, emphasized the importance of these tools in enhancing the quality of healthcare services in the state.

The distributed items include 35 laptop computers, 30 mobile tablets, a life-sized medical mannequin for training purposes, 4 video transmitters and receivers, and 30,000 Ulerawa cards.

In addition, the health workers also received maternal care tools, RCM manuals, information education and communication materials, 3-in-1 printers, and 58 Anti-Shock garments.

During the event, Mrs. Olusola Gbenga-Igotun, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Human Services, Dr. Ayodele Seluwa, the Executive Secretary of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, and Dr. Charles Doherty, the General Manager of the Ekiti State Health Insurance Scheme, emphasized that the distribution of these items was based on the specific needs of each office and officer.

The beneficiaries of these work tools encompass various entities, including Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation officers, logistics officers, Ulerawa program personnel at selected Public Health Centers across the state, the Reproductive Health Unit, State Primary Health Care Development Agency, three Tertiary Hospitals, 22 secondary facilities, and two Public Health Centers in each local government area.

Speaking on behalf of the recipients, Mrs. Bade-Gboyaga from the Comprehensive Health Centre in Okesa, Ado-Ekiti, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Oyebanji-led administration for its commitment to providing the work tools and prioritizing the welfare of healthcare workers in the state.

This initiative by the Ekiti State Government is a testament to their dedication to improving the healthcare sector and ensuring that health workers have the necessary tools to deliver quality services to the people of Ekiti State.
