In a heartfelt response to the tragic incident that occurred at Tansi International College in Anambra State over the weekend, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the upcoming 2023 election, expressed his deep sadness.
During a heavy rainstorm on Saturday, nine students from the college were struck by a bolt of lightning. Tragically, three young lives were lost, while the remaining students are currently receiving medical attention and undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Obi, known for his compassionate nature and dedication to education, shared his condolences on X, stating, “I am greatly saddened by the unfortunate natural disaster that befell Tansi International College. My heartfelt sympathies go out to the grieving families, the students, and the college staff. May they find the strength to endure this tremendous loss, and may the departed souls rest in eternal peace. I also pray for a swift and complete recovery for the injured.”
