Former Arsenal star, Samir Nasri, has offered some advice to Kylian Mbappe amidst ongoing speculation about the French forward’s future. Nasri believes that it would be more beneficial for Mbappe to extend his stay at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), rather than making a move to Real Madrid next summer.
Over the years, Mbappe has been consistently linked with a transfer to the Spanish giants. However, Nasri, who is a former France international, believes that staying at PSG will allow Mbappe to enjoy a prominent role and be regarded as the “king” of the team, rather than becoming just another star player at Madrid.
In an interview with JDD via Le10Sport, Nasri said, “Yes, even in world football. If he leaves, it will leave a hole, but with the budget, they will be able to recruit other players – who will not be Mbappe, that is clear.”
Nasri also highlighted the importance of Mbappe’s contributions to both the French national team and PSG. He added, “Already two years ago, I said he was the best player in the world. I still think so.”
The former Arsenal midfielder, who hails from the Paris region himself, expressed his preference for Mbappe to stay at PSG and help the club achieve greater success, rather than seeking an individual triumph at Madrid. Nasri drew a personal parallel, stating, “If [Marseille] had been owned by Qatar when I was at the club, I would never have left. I think it is better to be the king in your village.”
While Nasri acknowledged that Mbappe’s departure from PSG would leave a void, he believes that the club’s financial resources would enable them to recruit other talented players. However, he emphasized that there can only be one Mbappe, and it would be advantageous for the 23-year-old to continue making a significant impact at PSG.
As Mbappe’s contract with PSG comes to an end next summer, football enthusiasts around the world eagerly await his decision on whether he will continue his journey with the Parisians or embark on a new adventure in Madrid.
Regardless of his choice, it is evident that Mbappe’s talent and potential will continue to captivate football fans worldwide, leaving a lasting impression in the history of the beautiful game.
