Renowned politician and former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, has officially responded to the recent Supreme Court judgment, which dismissed his petition against the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the February 25 presidential election.

Obi alleges that the Apex Court intentionally overlooked constitutional breaches regarding the qualifications and prerequisites for candidates in presidential elections.

Expressing his concerns, Obi argues that the Supreme Court not only exhibited a worrisome disregard for public opinion but also neglected its duty as the ultimate guardian of law and policy.

“I would like to share my thoughts on the recent judgment delivered by the Supreme Court, the highest court in Nigeria,” says Obi, reflecting on his own experience with the court’s ruling on an electoral matter. “After careful consideration, I have decided to personally and officially respond to the recent judgment, just like most Nigerians have.”

The issues at stake, according to Obi, are matters of national importance. He believes that the Supreme Court failed to consider the overwhelming evidence of election rigging, false claims of technical glitches, significant non-compliance with INEC’s rules, as well as allegations of perjury, identity theft, and forgery.

“These are weighty allegations that should not have been taken lightly,” insists Obi. “The Supreme Court’s judgment seems to have deliberately condoned constitutional breaches, particularly in relation to the established qualifications and prerequisites for presidential candidates.”

It is crucial to highlight the significant implications of Obi’s allegations against the Supreme Court. As Nigerians, we must evaluate the independence and integrity of our judiciary in upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice for all.
