Godswill Akpabio, President of the Senate, has issued a stern warning to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of authorities, cautioning them towards non-compliance with Senate resolutions and laws.

During a National Workshop on Legislative Compliance in Abuja on Tuesday, Akpabio, represented by Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, emphasised the Senate’s dedication to upholding the rule of regulation.

He additionally emphasised the significance of MDAs adhering to Senate resolutions.

The workshop, organised in collaboration with Green Mount Consulting Ltd, mentioned the imperatives of legislative compliance in deepening democracy and guaranteeing good governance.

Akpabio acknowledged that non-compliance with Senate resolutions was unacceptable, because it undermined the inspiration of the nation’s democracy.

Senate chief, Opeyemi Bamidele, echoed the importance of legislative compliance, highlighting its position in sustaining the rule of regulation inside a democracy.

He burdened the necessity for senators to stick to their very own resolutions and the duty of the legislative compliance committee to make sure compliance.

Garba Maidoki, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Legislative Compliance, reaffirmed the tenth Senate’s dedication to addressing points of compliance.

Senator Ayogu Eze, harped on the vital position of the compliance committee, urging its members to attract up an agenda to reinforce the nation’s compliance with laws.
