AFCON: Okoye, Ebuehi in my plans — Peseiro

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro says Maduka Okoye and Tyrone Ebuehi remain in his plans for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Okoye was recalled for Nigeria’s friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique last month.

Francis Uzoho, Adeleye Adebayo and Ojo Olorunleke are currently ahead of him in the pecking order.

Empoli defender, Ebuehi will battle Ola Aina and Bright Osayi-Samuel for a spot in the squad.

Peseiro however said both Okoye and Ebuehi have a good chance of making the final squad.

“They belong to the group of players we follow and are part of the list of those we normally call,” Peseiro told TMW.

“This way, they can participate in any competition the Super Eagles play in.”

The Super Eagles will look to win a fourth AFCON title in Cote d’Ivoire next year.
