Defence Minister Assures Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi Residents of Safety during Off-Season Elections

The Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle, has given a firm assurance of safety and protection to the residents and electorate in Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi for the upcoming off-season elections slated for Saturday.

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Thursday, Mr. Matawalle emphasized that adequate arrangements have been put in place for security agencies to effectively handle any disruptions and individuals instigating trouble or crises during the elections.

He further stated, “The military will be on standby 24/7 and can be reached by anyone in need. Personally, I will be present at the office throughout the election period to ensure the safety of the three states. We are committed to protecting the people.”

“Rest assured, we will ensure the safety and protection of the people in these three states. I want to assure Nigerians that the elections will be conducted peacefully, and everyone will be safe. There will be no incidents.”

The minister concluded by affirming, “The elections in these states will be conducted peacefully.”
