Festus Keyamo Warns NLC and TUC: Aviation Operations at Risk

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has issued a stern warning to the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), cautioning them against disrupting flight operations at airports.

Keyamo delivered the warning at the ministerial retreat for permanent secretaries, directors, and heads of agencies of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development on Thursday in Effurun, Delta.

Asserting his authority as the political head of Nigeria’s aviation industry, Keyamo declared his steadfastness in not tolerating labor leaders obstructing access roads to the airport.

Notably, this warning comes in the wake of reports that labor leaders had blocked access roads to the Abuja Airport in protest over the alleged mistreatment of Joe Ajaero, the NLC president.

Speaking directly to the labor leaders, Keyamo emphasized, “Please, I want to beg the labour leaders to leave aviation alone. You cannot target aviation in trying to address your grievances. In targeting the aviation industry, you are targeting a global village. I am addressing the labour leaders across the country: do not allow the Labour Party (LP) to destroy the labour movement.”
