Isyaku Mohammed Assumes Duty as Commissioner of Police for Osun Command

Isyaku Mohammed has officially taken up the role of Commissioner of Police at the Osun State Police Command in the capital city of Osogbo.

The announcement was made by the Command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, through a press release on Friday.

According to the statement, CP Mohammed arrives in Osun after serving as the CP in charge of Police Account and Budget at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Opalola confirmed that Mohammed assumed office on Friday, November 10, 2023.

The statement also highlighted that CP Mohammed was “inducted into the Nigeria Police Force in August 1996 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (Cadet ASP).”

“The Commissioner of Police holds an M.Sc in Business Administration, an M.Sc in Strategic Studies and Security Administration, and a B.Sc in Accounting. He is also a Fellow of the Certified National Accountant of Nigeria (FCNA).

“CP Isyaku Mohammed has served in various capacities in different states across the country, including the FCT, Abuja. He is a dedicated professional who, since joining the Force, has excelled in departments critical to the Nigeria Police, such as Administration, Operations, and Investigations.

“CP Isyaku last served as the CP Police Account and Budget at the Force Headquarters in Abuja before being transferred to the Osun Police Command,” the statement concluded.

Opalola further explained that his assignment to the Osun State Police Command follows the recent retirement of the former Commissioner of Police, AIG Patrick Kehinde Longe.
