Anambra State: Prof. Soludo Congratulates Nigeria’s First Female Governor at 81

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has sent a congratulatory message to Dame (Dr.) Virginia Ngozi Etiaba, the first female governor in the country, on the occasion of her 81st birthday celebration.

Dame Virginia Etiaba, a native of Nnewi, was former governor of Anambra State from November 2006 to February 2007, making her the first woman to serve as governor of a Nigerian state.

“On behalf of the state and its citizens, I congratulate you on reaching this amazing milestone and for your dedicated service to our great state.

“Birthdays are special moments to treasure the gift of life.

“Your selfless commitment and contributions to public service in Anambra State remain commendable.

“As you celebrate this special day with family and friends, may your life remain filled with continued love, good health and happiness,” Governor Soludo said, according to a statement released and signed by Christian Aburime, the press secretary to Governor Souldo.
