Aisha Yesufu Issues Warning of Impending Nationwide Protest

Prominent socio-political activist, Aisha Yesufu, has sounded a clarion call, cautioning Nigerians about an imminent protest that could surpass the impact of the 2020 nationwide End SARS protest.

For those unfamiliar, the EndSARS movement was an organic social uprising and a series of widespread demonstrations against police brutality in Nigeria. It gained traction on social media with the demand for the disbandment of the notorious Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police Force.

The initially peaceful protests soon spiraled into widespread unrest, engulfing major Nigerian cities and resulting in tragic violence, including the loss of many young lives.

Having been an active participant in the EndSARS demonstrations, Aisha Yesufu highlighted the potential for a future uprising to catch the nation off guard.

She remarked that the current political climate has stoked a simmering rage amongst the populace, driven by the unchecked audacity and corruption of the ruling class who have manipulated their way into positions of power.

On a grave note, Yesufu expressed, “Nobody predicted the emergence of the #EndSARS protest, and likewise, the next wave of dissent may catch us unawares. Regrettably, it may take a violent turn. The prevailing atmosphere of fury, stemming from the brazen impunity of the ruling elite, knows no bounds. No one will be spared.”
