Italian forward Mario Balotelli, currently playing for Adana Demirspor, has expressed his preference for Gianluigi Donnarumma over Mike Maignan in a recent interview. Balotelli, known for his stints with Manchester City and Liverpool, stated his fondness for Donnarumma, citing their acquaintance.
Furthermore, Balotelli lauded Maignan as a unique goalkeeper, highlighting his attentiveness and desire for quick play. In his own words, “Maignan is always attentive, he always wants to play it fast. He is unique because of that.”
Despite acknowledging Maignan’s distinct qualities, Balotelli unequivocally favoured Donnarumma, whom he had played with and knows personally. He stated, “But I am fond of Gigio, I played with him and I know him, therefore – having to choose between the two – I would definitely take Donnarumma.”
Expressing his hopes for Donnarumma’s success, Balotelli expressed his desire for the goalkeeper to lead Italy to success in the Euros and to silence his critics by showcasing his prowess. His unwavering support for Donnarumma reflected his deep respect for the talented goalkeeper.
