Former Okpokwu LGA Chairman Amina Audu Kidnapped by Gunmen in Benue State

Reports from Benue State indicate that Amina Audu, the suspended chairman of Okpokwu LGA, was abducted by suspected Fulani herdsmen, along with two others.

Sources revealed that the abduction took place on the Makurdi – Naka road while they were en route to Makurdi.

According to an eyewitness who spoke anonymously, the armed herdsmen blocked the road, fired at the vehicle, and then proceeded to take Audu, a relative, and the driver into the bush after robbing them of their possessions. Subsequently, the vehicle was towed to a nearby village by community guards who fled due to the superior firepower of the assailants.

Efforts to obtain information from the Benue Police Command spokesperson, SP Catherine Anene, have been unsuccessful as she has not responded to inquiries regarding the incident.
