NLC Urges Governor-elect, Ododo to Prioritize Workers’ Welfare in Kogi

In a recent statement, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called upon the Governor-elect of Kogi State, Usman Ahmed Ododo, to address the various challenges plaguing the state’s workforce.

Comrade Gabriel Amari, the Kogi State NLC Chairman, emphasized the importance of tackling issues related to workers’ welfare, including salaries and emoluments, in his address on Tuesday. He expressed the union’s eagerness to establish a strong collaboration with the incoming administration.

Amari underscored the significance of the support garnered from workers during the recent gubernatorial election, highlighting their collective aspiration for the alleviation of their hardships across the local government areas.

He stated, “The emergence of Ododo signals the dawn of a new development in the history of Kogi State. As a Labour movement representing the interest of workers, we are assuring the incoming administration of our 100 percent support to achieve the Kogi State of our dream.”

Additionally, Amari made a fervent appeal to Governor-elect, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, to proactively address the persistent challenges confronting workers in Kogi State, particularly focusing on their welfare, salaries, and emoluments. He expressed the renewed optimism of workers in anticipation of the expeditious resolution of these issues.

Amari concluded by conveying felicitations to the Deputy Governor-Elect, Comrade Joel Oyibo, and urged him to collaborate earnestly with the Governor-elect for the betterment of civil servants and the entire populace of Kogi State.
