Tinubu: Inheriting Liabilities and Assets from Buhari

President Bola Tinubu has voiced his claim of inheriting significant liabilities and assets from his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari. This revelation emerged during his meeting with the Vice-President (Country Programs) of the Islamic Development Bank, Mansur Muhtar, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The statement was issued by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale on Tuesday.

Despite the challenging legacy, Tinubu pledged to refrain from making excuses. “We inherited serious liabilities, but also assets from our predecessors. We do not make any excuses,” he declared.

Asserting their readiness for forward momentum, Tinubu also highlighted the abundance of investment opportunities in several sectors. Emphasizing on the role of finance and guarantees as potential obstacles, he expressed keen interest in leveraging partnerships to overcome these barriers. “You have partnered with us before. We want to scale it up now and do much more with greater ambition and clearer vision,” he added, underscoring the aspirations for growth and progress.
