Organised labour’s ongoing strike has caused a setback in the coroner’s inquest into the untimely passing of Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
According to reports, security personnel at the court premises denied judiciary staff and magistrates access to the building for the continuation of the inquest on Wednesday.
The National Association of Nigeria (NAN) highlighted that the courtroom remained inaccessible due to full compliance with the nationwide strike.
At the last sitting, the coroner adjourned the hearing until Wednesday, 15 November, for further proceedings.
Following allegations of the brutalization of its National President, Joe Ajaero, in Owerri, Imo State on 1 November, Nigerian workers, represented by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), commenced a nationwide strike, as reported by Media Talk Africa.
Mohbad, a former member of the Marlian Record label owned by Naira Marley, passed away on September 12 in controversial circumstances.
