After a brief hiatus, Tony Bolus has been reinstated as the head coach of Katsina United, marking a significant development for the team.
Earlier this week, Bolus was asked to step aside by the club’s management, citing concerns over his perceived technical ineptitude. This decision stirred discussions and anticipation among football enthusiasts in the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL).
Alhaji Yusuf Jirdede, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Katsina State, swiftly intervened and ordered the immediate return of the former Yobe Desert Stars coach, demonstrating a proactive approach to team management.
Bolus had joined Katsina United at the onset of the 2023-24 NPFL season, bringing with him a depth of experience and a vision for the team’s performance.
Upon their return to the top flight after a season in the Nigeria National League (NNL), the Chanji Boys encountered challenges, reflecting in their performance. With three wins, two draws, and three losses in eight games, the team found itself in a position necessitating strategic decisions.
Currently, Katsina United holds the 11th position on the NPFL table, facing the arduous task of reasserting their presence and resilience in the league.
