Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has taken a decisive step in response to the recent uproar in the state-owned nursing schools. His office has announced the formation of a special committee to thoroughly investigate allegations of malpractice and manipulation of exam results.

According to a statement by Dodoh Okafor, Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Communications, the committee has been tasked with examining claims of deliberate sabotage of standard procedures raised by the aggrieved students. Otti’s administration has called upon all students directly impacted by the controversial examinations to submit their petitions to the Governor’s Chief of Staff for comprehensive investigation and appropriate administrative measures.

Assuring transparency and accountability, the state government has pledged to leave no stone unturned in addressing the allegations. Emphasizing its commitment to upholding justice, the government has made it clear that no individual or entity will be exempt from scrutiny.

The official statement also urges all affected students to submit their petitions before the end of office hours on Friday.

It is to be noted that in the past week, nursing students in Abia State staged a two-day protest in Umuahia, demanding the removal of Mrs. Onyeukwu Nwakaego, the Director of Nursing Service in Abia State Ministry of Health, along with other senior officials. The students allege that their exam results were tampered with and traded for financial gains.

Furthermore, they claim that the release of their Practical Training School (PTS) exam results was egregiously delayed, during which time their scores were purportedly manipulated.
