PDP to Challenge Appeal Court’s Ruling on Sanwo-Olu’s Election Victory

The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared its intention to contest the recent judgment of the Appeal Court, which upheld Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s triumph in the March 18 Governorship Election.

Speaking in Lagos on Wednesday, Hakeem Amode, the PDP’s Publicity Secretary, affirmed the party’s determination to exhaust all legal avenues in upholding democratic principles.

“The party is currently scrutinizing the verdict of the Court of Appeal in Lagos, which dismissed the major issues raised by our party’s governorship candidate, Dr. AbdulAzeez Adediran, also known as Jandor, regarding the judgment of the Lagos State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal,” said Amode.

“While we refrain from a detailed analysis of the ruling at this point, we urge our loyal supporters to remain calm and refrain from any actions that could disrupt the peace and order of our society.

“As a party, we are committed to conducting a thorough review of the judgment upon receipt of the Certified True Copy, after which we will issue specific directives to our legal team,” Amode added.

Expressing confidence in the people of Lagos State, the PDP spokesperson affirmed the party’s unwavering dedication to serving the populace to the fullest extent.

“We firmly believe that the appropriate recourse for addressing our concerns is through the legal process.

“We are resolute in our determination to pursue our case until it attains a just and lawful resolution.

“We have full confidence in the people of Lagos State, who rightly deserve the very best.

“Our party remains steadfast in its commitment to serving the populace to the fullest extent, should the opportunity arise,” the PDP spokesman concluded.
