Robert Mizo, a forward for Bayelsa United, has emphasized the importance of staying focused and not becoming complacent following the team’s 2-2 draw against Heartland in Owerri. The Prosperity Boys displayed resilience as they rallied from a two-goal deficit to secure a draw at the Dan Anyiam Stadium on Wednesday.
Nneoye Ofem and Robert Mizo found the net for Bayelsa United, nullifying the early lead secured by Promise Anyanwu and Chinedu Ike for the hosts in the first half.
Mizo’s goal in the game has propelled him to joint top scorer position with seven goals in the Nigeria Premier Football League this season.
Expressing his appreciation for his teammates’ outstanding performance in clinching their first away point of the season, Mizo remarked, “Great performance from the team for fighting back to secure a draw.”
He added, “We shouldn’t overstate the significance of this achievement, but it marks our first away point of the season and I was able to notch my 7th goal.”
Despite the draw, Bayelsa United remains in the relegation zone, highlighting the imperative nature of their upcoming fixtures. The team, led by Diepreye Tiebowei, is set to face Sunshine Stars in their next game.
