IGP Olukayode Appoints AIG Aghaulor to Command Enugu, Anambra States

The newly appointed Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Godwin Ndidi Aghaulor, has assumed his duties as the head of Zone 13 Police Headquarters, overseeing Enugu and Anambra States. This follows the retirement of AIG Tony Adejoh Olofu, the former commander of the zone.

AIG Aghaulor’s arrival was met with a warm reception from senior police officers, and he was given a tour of the facility to familiarize himself with the working environment before assuming his official responsibilities.

According to a statement released by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Ihunwo, AIG Aghaulor, a native of Agbor Ika North LGA of Delta State, joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet ASP in 1990, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Port Harcourt.

Throughout his career, AIG Aghaulor has served in various departments of the Nigeria Police Force, as well as globally. His roles have included serving as Commandant of the Police College in Kaduna, Deputy Commissioner in charge of Administration in Sokoto State, and Deputy Commissioner in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department in Ebonyi State.

He has also held positions such as Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the Zonal Criminal Investigation Department in Zone 9 Umuahia, and Assistant Commissioner in charge of the Homicide Section at the FCID Abuja, among others. Additionally, AIG Aghaulor has participated in the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) from 2006 to 2007.

His previous roles include serving as Squadron Commander in 41PMF Damaturu, Yobe State from 2003 to 2005, as well as several Divisional Police Officer (DPO) positions in Anambra and Rivers States.

Notably, AIG Aghaulor is known for his zero tolerance for corruption. In line with the vision statement of the Inspector General of Police to establish a modern, professionally competent, service-driven, rule of law-compliant, and people-friendly police force, the Zonal headquarters seeks the cooperation and support of the people of Enugu and Anambra States to enable AIG Aghaulor to apply his extensive policing experience and maintain law and order.

It is worth mentioning that AIG Aghaulor, known for his zero tolerance for corruption, is married with children.
