The Joint Task Force, Operation Haderin Daji, Northwest (OPHD) has conducted a successful operation in Zamfara State, resulting in the neutralization of two terrorists and the rescue of five kidnapped victims, including a child. Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, the spokesman of Operation Hadarin Daji, issued a statement in Gusau, the state capital, on Friday, providing details of the operation.

According to the statement, the troops executed a meticulous clearance operation on terrorists’ hideouts from November 16 to 17 in Tugan Gama, Tugan Hausawa, Tugan Nabaru, Yarsabia, and Daji Yanayin Kari communities in Anka Local Government Area of the State.

“During the operation, the troops encountered and neutralized two armed terrorists, while others managed to escape with varying degrees of gunshot injuries,” the statement revealed.

Additionally, the troops promptly responded to a distress call reporting an armed bandit attack on Yarkoria community in Wuya District, Anka Local Government Area of the State.

“The troops’ superior firepower compelled the terrorists to abandon the kidnapped victims and flee. As a result of this swift action, five victims, including a child, two females, and three males, were successfully rescued and reunited with their families,” the statement added.

The success of this operation demonstrates the commitment and effectiveness of the Joint Task Force in combating terrorism and banditry in Zamfara State. The rescue of the kidnapped victims is a testament to the bravery and dedication of the troops in ensuring the safety and security of the state’s residents.
