House of Representatives Pledges to Boost Capacity of Nigerian Security Agencies, Says Speaker Abbas

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has affirmed that the 10th Assembly is committed to enhancing the capabilities of the Nigerian Armed forces and other security agencies to address the prevailing security issues in the country.

Speaking at a two-day post-inauguration retreat for members of the House Committee on Defence, Mr Abbas emphasized the need for a united effort to confront the intricate security challenges in the nation.

According to a statement by Musa Krishi, the Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the speaker in Abuja on Saturday, Mr Abbas advocated for a holistic approach to national security and stressed the necessity to bolster the capacity of the Armed Forces and other security agencies.

He further reiterated that the 10th House of Representatives will continue to bolster the endeavors of security agencies through sustained funding, provision of modern equipment, training, and enhanced welfare packages for security personnel.
