Nollywood actress and singer Angela Okorie has recently divulged the harrowing aftermath of narrowly escaping an assassination attempt in December 2019, recounting the severe toll it took on her mental well-being.

According to the thespian, the trauma from the attack led to a prolonged ordeal of insomnia, acute stress disorder, and constant surveillance by security personnel. In a candid revelation during a podcast interview hosted by her colleague, Iyabo Ojo, Angela Okorie expressed the psychological turmoil she endured, stating, “For three good years, it was hard for me to have a relationship or do anything.”

Recalling the fateful incident, Angela Okorie shared, “We were actually coming from a show when we were attacked by gunmen. It was very traumatising. I had PTSD. And then I developed insomnia, shock disorder, and all that. I had to always move around with security.”

The actress further disclosed her apprehension, admitting, “It’s so embarrassing because there are some places you want to go to that you don’t need security but because I was traumatised, I don’t know who was about to shoot me again.”

It is noteworthy that in 2019, Angela Okorie had taken to Instagram to announce the narrow escape from the assassination attempt, revealing the chilling details, “10 bullets were removed from my head and 2 bullets close to my eyes.”
