Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba widely known as Mohbad, has emphatically cautioned against anyone taking his son’s body for burial without his explicit consent.
Recalling the appeals made by singer Bella Shmurda and actress Tonto Dikeh to the police for the release of Mohbad’s body and a prompt autopsy result, Mr. Aloba took to Tiktok to share a video message on Sunday, reiterating that no one should retrieve the late singer’s body without his permission, underscoring that even in death, Mohbad remains his son.
His poignant words captured the gravity of his emotions: “When this boy was alive, he was alive. When he’s gone, he still retains my name. Nobody should go there and take his body, please. If they want to do anything there, I’ll be the one to authorise them. Nobody should go and carry Mohbad’s body from there.”
Mohbad’s demise on September 12, 2023, under contentious circumstances led to his swift burial on the following day. However, in response to public outcry for a comprehensive investigation into his sudden passing, his body was exhumed a week later for autopsy, after which the police deposited it in the morgue.
