Civil Society Group Slams EFCC-NAF Face-off in Kaduna

A civil society organization, Close Watch, has strongly criticized the recent clash between the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and Nigerian Air Force (NAF) officers in Kaduna. The group’s National Coordinator, Biodun Odele, expressed dismay at the unnecessary public altercation in a statement released on Sunday in Abuja.

Odele emphasized the need for government institutions to collaborate in addressing internal disputes, rather than resorting to public confrontations.

Notably, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the current Chief of Staff, is known for upholding stringent ethical standards and is unlikely to tolerate unruly behavior among NAF personnel.

“Both the EFCC and the NAF are critical government agencies, integral to our country’s security architecture. It is imperative that they avoid causing embarrassment to each other,” Odele remarked, stressing the importance of maintaining a unified front against national security challenges.

He further underscored the Chief of Staff’s unwavering stance against any form of disorderly conduct within the Air Force, emphasizing that such behaviors not only tarnish the service but also reflect poorly on the government as a whole.

The group urged government agencies to foster harmonious working relationships, particularly amidst the nation’s ongoing security concerns.
