Shehu Sani Condemns Plateau Governor’s Sack, Calls Judiciary the Democracy’s Coffin

Renowned former senator of Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has vehemently lambasted the judiciary, labelling it as the grave where Nigerian democracy is buried.

Sani’s scorn followed the recent appellate court decision to sack Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State.

The Appeal Court overturned the ruling of the governorship election tribunal that had validated Mutfwang’s victory, and declared Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the rightful winner of the governorship election, mandating the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue him a fresh certificate of return.

Expressing his dismay, Sani took to social media, denouncing the court’s judgment as deplorable and intolerable.

On his social media platform, Sani expressed, “The Court of Appeal judgement against the electoral victory of the Plateau State Governor is untoward, unpalatable, and reprehensible.

“A brazen robbery of the people’s will. The judiciary is turning into the death knell of democracy.”
