Shehu Sani Praises Goodluck Jonathan’s Unprecedented Achievements for Nigeria

Former senator Shehu Sani has highlighted four pivotal actions carried out by ex-Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, actions that, in his opinion, may never be replicated by any future head of state.

Taking to his official social media handle to commemorate Jonathan’s birthday, Sani reflected on how the former president appointed an Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman whom he had “never known and never met”.

“There are four things ex-President Jonathan did that may not be repeated by any other President in the nearest future: APPOINTED an Inec chairman he never knew and never met,” he stated.

Sani also emphasized that during his tenure, Jonathan “approved the use of a data capturing system in the election that led to his eviction from power.”

Furthermore, Sani pointed out that Jonathan, during his presidency, “invited an opposition candidate to nominate one INEC commissioner”.

Notably, the former lawmaker highlighted Jonathan’s decision to “disagree with the outcome of an election but went ahead and congratulated the Winner for the sake of peace and unity in the country”.

“To the Doves, he is a man of peace, a true nationalist, and a patriot, and to the Hawks, he was a timid compromiser. GEJ saved the country in its most critical and crucial moments,” he added.
