The Lagos State Police Command has revealed that it is yet to receive the autopsy report of the late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, despite the completion of the autopsy two months ago.

The late singer, Mohbad, was laid to rest two months ago and an autopsy was carried out to ascertain the cause of his death.

Following Mohbad’s untimely demise on September 12, which sparked widespread controversy, the police set up an investigation team to unravel the circumstances surrounding the musician’s death.

In a tweet in September, Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the state police, stated that the “autopsy has been concluded” and the authorities were “awaiting result.”

Subsequently, in October, Mohbad’s death was linked to several primary suspects, with then-Commissioner of Police Idowu Owohunwa disclosing that Mohbad had shown symptoms of vomiting and goosebumps after receiving three injections from nurse Feyisayo Ogedemgbe on September 12, 2023.

Consequently, charges were pressed against some of the suspects.

However, this past Friday, the State Police Command released musicians Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and Balogun Samson, also known as Sam Larry, after they met the conditions for their bail.

It can be recalled that following the circulation of a video online depicting the late singer being assaulted, the duo were detained as part of the investigation into Mohbad’s death.

Responding to inquiries about the release of Mohbad’s autopsy report, Hundeyin addressed the issue, stating that the report had not been officially received by the command.

Hundeyin said, “The autopsy report has not been given to us. Some people have been spreading rumours that it’s ready. It’s one thing for it to be ready, it’s another thing for it to be officially given to us – for us to receive and sign a copy acknowledging its receipt. Therefore, we don’t operate based on rumours, but rather on established facts.”
