Hanks Anuku Opens Up About Battling Depression and Drinking

The renowned Nollywood actor, Hanks Anuku, has candidly revealed that he turns to alcohol as a means of coping with his ongoing struggle with depression.

Amidst growing concern over his well-being and public appearance, Anuku disclosed the details of his financial hardships in a viral video on his Instagram page. In the video, the 63-year-old actor emphatically stated, “Yes, depression makes me drink, but I never resort to hard drugs. I don’t touch hard drugs at all.”

Reflecting on the impact of his depression, Anuku expressed, “Out of sheer despondency, I endured years of unemployment, all the while grappling with the weight of providing for my children, including their education and overall well-being. You can only imagine the depth of despair I reached at that time.”
