Al Haouz Earthquake: Victims Registration Open till January 16, 2024, Says Ministry of Interior

The Ministry of Interior has announced that a register for recording the victims of the Al Haouz earthquake will remain open until January 16, 2024. This initiative is in accordance with law n°110.14, which established a system of coverage against the consequences of catastrophic events, and follows the decree n° 3.58.23 issued by the Head of Government on October 13, 2023.

The Al Haouz earthquake was declared a catastrophic event by the decree, which was published in the Official Gazette n° 7240 on October 19, 2023. The Ministry highlighted that the decree also specifies the list of affected local authorities.

According to the Ministry, the registration process will continue until January 16, 2024, and can be done directly at the dedicated offices in the caïdats and relevant administrative annexes, or through the electronic portal www.recensementcatastrophes.ma. Eligible individuals for registration include the victims themselves, rightful claimants, as well as any natural or legal persons with connections to the victim.

Upon registration, the declarant will receive a dated and sealed receipt containing a reference number to document the operation. For those using the Portal for registration, the receipt will be available for electronic download.

This endeavor seeks to ensure that all victims of the Al Haouz earthquake are accounted for and provided with necessary support as they recover from this catastrophic event.
