Akpabio names Natasha, others committee chairmen

Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Tuesday named Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central), the chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content as well as the vice chairman of the Committee on Steel.

Akpabio also appointed Senator Jimoh Ibrahim (APC, Ondo South) as the chairman of the Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Affairs and 13 other senators as chairmen and vice chairmen of different committees.

The appointments are as follows:

Committee on Steel―Patrick Ndubueze (chairman) and Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (vice-chairman)

Committee on Tourism―Shuaibu Isa Lau (chairman) and Ireti Kingigbe (vice-chairman)

Committee on State and Local Government Affairs―Binos Yaroe (Chairman) and Francis Fadahunsi (vice-chairman)

Committee on National Atomic and Nuclear Energy―Sahabi Alhaji Yau (chairman) and Mustapha Khalid Ibrahim (vice-chairman)

Committee on Youth and Community Engagement―Yemi Adaramodu (chairman)

Committee on Sport Development―Kawu Sumaila (chairman) and Ned Nwoko (vice chairman)

Committee on Niger Delta Affairs―Babajide Ipinsagba (chairman) and Rev. Amos Kumai Yohanna (vice-chairman)

Committee on Art, Culture and Creative Economy―Onawo Ogoshi (chairman) and Okechukwu Ezea (vice-chairman).

Committee on Defence―Senator Joel Onowakpo (vice-chairman)

Committee on Petroleum Downstream Sector―Senator Ifeanyi Ubah (chairman) and Babajide Ipinsagba (vice-chairman).

Committee on Solid Minerals Development― Sampson Ekong (chairman)

Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission―Osita Ngwu (vice-chairman)

Establishment and Public Services Committee, Senator Sunday Katung (vice-chairman)

Committee on Housing―Victor Umeh (vice-chairman).
