Tinubu Asserts Deserving of Guinness World Records for Reform Initiatives

President Bola Tinubu has proclaimed that his reform initiatives since taking office on May 29, 2023, justify his inclusion in the renowned Guinness World Records. Speaking at the 10th German-Nigerian Business Forum in Berlin, Germany, he emphasized that his tenure as governor laid the groundwork for his presidency.

Drawing on his experience as the Lagos State governor from 1999 to 2007, Tinubu highlighted the economic reforms that propelled the state from insignificance to being the fifth largest economy on the African continent.

“For those daunted by challenges, look at me – I come from the private sector, honed by Deloitte. My tenure as treasurer in Exxon Mobil reflects my deep understanding of corporate governance,” Tinubu stated proudly.

“I led Lagos for eight consecutive years, and today, I can confidently say that Lagos State has ascended to become the fifth-largest economy in Africa, rising from obscurity. It is this track record that propelled me to the presidency.”

“Nigeria elected me based on my commitment to reforms, and from the moment I assumed office, I commenced the reform process. To me, if my name isn’t featured in the Guinness Book of Records, I would endeavor to ensure it is, as I initiated these changes without any expectation,” Tinubu expressed.

This assertion by President Tinubu underscores his confidence in the impact of his governance and reform policies, characterizing his leadership style as bold, ambitious, and determined. His declaration at the international forum demonstrates his eagerness to project Nigeria’s progress and potential to the global business community.
